More than 33,000 Russian tourists still on holiday in Egypt
Moscow, Feb 4 (Itar-Tass) More than 33,000 Russiantourists are still staying in Egypt in spite of mass riots inthat country, Oleg Mosseyev, the spokesman for the RussianFederal Agency for Tourism.
"According to the data we''ve just received from theRussian Federal Service for Civil Aviation, released at 17:30hours Moscow Standard Time yesterday, only fifteen passengersarrived in Egypt by all the chartered flights from Russia,aboard all the jets," Mosseyev said.
"About 2,000 people took return flights to Russia," hetold the Rossiya 24 channel.
"That''s why we can make a conclusion that about 33,000Russians are still staying at Egyptian resorts in spite of thedisorders that have swept the country," Mosseyev said.
Egypt is one of the most popular winter destinations forRussian tourists. (Itar-Tass)
