Hooda asks private sector to invest in health sector
Gurgaon, Feb 3 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister BhupinderSingh Hooda today asked the private sector to develop thestate into a medical hub by investing in heath and health-caresegments.
"Haryana holds great potential for development as acentre of medical tourism. Under the new Industrial andInvestment Policy 2011, projects involving an investment of Rs100 crore and above, will be given the status of industry forthe purpose of incentives, to promote health tourism," hesaid.
The chief minister was speaking here at the inauguralsession of the 39th National Conference of Indian Associationof Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL).
Pharmaceutical sector has a vast potential and needsto be developed on a sustainable basis, he said.
"The Centre has selected Haryana for setting up aPharma Industrial Park and a Bio-Technology Park along withresearch and development facility. We have decided to earmarkor acquire about 1,000 acres land for the development of adedicated pharma park in the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expresswaycorridor for the same," he said.
A new programme involving an investment of Rs 1,500crore has been implemented to strengthen the healthinfrastructure in the state, Hooda added.
