Vijay Shah of M/s Vijay Shah Developers said housingprojects for the lower income group (LIG) would be hit hard bythe decision.

"Since the builders would be passing on the burden ofthe end-users (the customers), it is not a good move at a timewhen on one side the real estate prices are high and thehousing loan rates are moving northward," Shah said.

The move would also affect the affordable housingsegment (below Rs 20 lakh range), in the state, he maintained.
