Kolkata, Feb 2 (PTI) The West Bengal Government todayannounced a two-day "Job Assistance Fair" to facilitateeducated unemployeds find employment in IT and ITeS companies.
With the initiative of state IT department, the fairwould be organised by NASSCOM and WEBEL to provide theunemployed youths of Bengal, who have passed engineering withat least 65 per cent marks and in general discipline with 45per cent marks during the year 2009 and 2010, state ITMinister Debesh Das said announcing it.
The students would be able to face 30 major IT companies,including IBM, PWC, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant andGenpact, through intervews on February 4 and 5 at Salt LakeStadium on production of biodata, four copies of photographsand other documents in original, Das said.
The minister said that the IT sector had already employedabout 1.05 lakh youths, which would rise to 1.30 by March,this year and about 2 lakh by this year-end.
The offer has been made to those who passed out in2009 and 2010 as students during these two years faced mostproblems due to recession.
