AIFF Technical Committee to review Asian Cup show on Feb 9

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) The Indian football team''sperformance in last month''s Asian Cup in Doha will be reviewedby the AIFF Technical Committee next week and a report will besubmitted to the Executive Committee for a final evaluation.

The six-member Technical Committee, under thechairmanship of former AIFF vice-president C R Viswanathan,will review the performance of Bob Houghton''s boys on February9 here.

Committee member and former India international MohammedHabib is unlikely to take part in the meeting due to someprior personal commitments, though he is making his viewsknown in writing.

The other members of the Technical Committee arelegendary India international Inder Singh, Pradip Chowdhury --who quit as national team manager just before the Asian Cupafter a fall-out with chief coach Houghton -- former Indiagoalkeeper Bhramanand Shankwalker and Krishnaji Rao.

There is no intimation of a meeting to the ExecutiveCommittee members but it is expected to be held towards theend of this month or early next month. The AIFF ExecutiveCommittee normally meets once in four months and the lastmeeting was held on November 9.

Meanwhile, Mohua Bengali channel will telecast theremaining I-League home and away matches of the three Kolkataclubs starting with the 13th round derby game between MohunBagan and East Bengal on February 6. The other Kolkata side inthe I-League is Chirag United.

"Mohua Media Private Limited has bagged the right totelecast the remaining 14 round I-League matches involving thethree Kolkata sides from sponsors IMG-Reliance," a top sourcein the AIFF told PTI.

Twelve out of 26 rounds have been completed in theI-League so far with an unbeaten East Bengal on top with 30points. I-League had started on December 3 last year.

International Management Group and Reliance Industrieshave signed a 15-year deal worth Rs 700 crore with the AIFFfor all commercial properties of the federation, including thenational team.

But after the deal, which was signed on December 10 lastyear, IMG-Reliance has not been able to find a broadcaster forthe I-League.
