Srinagar, Feb 2 (PTI) Two over ground workers (OGW) ofHizbul Mujahideen outfit have been arrested in differentoperations from Pattan area of Baramulla district, police saidhere.
Based on a specific information, police apprehendedFayaz Ahmad Wani from Lolipora area of Pattan, 30 kms fromhere, a police spokesman said today.
"A letter pad and a receipt book of the bannedterrorist outfit was recovered from his possession," he said.
During questioning, Wani told that he had beencollecting funds on behalf of the Hizb outfit and distributedit among the families of slain militants and those who wereinjured in the last summer''s agitation.
"Wani was also instigating people to join the militantranks and avenge the killing of the recent agitation," thespokesman said adding he was also actively participating inorganising processions in the area.
Wani was presently functioning as tehsil President ofhard line Hurriyat Conference headed by Syed Ali ShahGeelani.
The spokesman said Wani recently got Rs 70,000 fromHurriyat headquarters at Hyderpora in Srinagar which hedistributed among stone pelters of Palhallan, Pattan and itsadjoining areas.
In another operation, police arrested another Hizbsupporter from Zangam in Pattan area and recovered one pistol,one magazine and six rounds of ammunition from his possession.
Ghulam Rasool Bhat alias Azam was arrested during araid late last night.
