Mumbai, Feb 1 (PTI) S Ramadorai, former CEO of leadingsoftware firm TCS who has been appointed as Advisor to thePrime Minister in the National Skill Development Council(NSDC), today said he was humbled by the opportunity given tohim by the Government.
"I am both delighted and humbled by the opportunity tobe the Advisor to the Prime Minister in the NSDC," Ramadorai,currently Vice-Chairman of TCS, in a statement here.
The veteran IT professional will hold the rank of aCabinet Minister.
The Council, headed by the Prime Minister, seeks todevelop a strategy for skill development at the national levelalong with variations at the state level and formulatestrategies to address the skill deficit.
"Strengthening the links between education, employableskills and jobs is imperative both from the perspective of ayoung working population as well as a competitive advantagefor the country," he said.
To reap the benefits of our demographic dividend,skill development for employability is a critical task for thenation, he said.
