Salaries of four officials stopped for irregulaties in IAY

Munger (Bihar), Feb 1 (PTI) Salaries of fourgovernment officials, including a block development officer,were today stopped after they were found to have been involvedin irregularities in distribution of assistance for housesunder Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) in Maoist-affected Mungerdistrict.

Official sources said the order would be implementedagainst them with immediate effect.

Development commissioner Lalan Singh probed thecomplaints of irregularities against the four in theimplementation of the central scheme for housing assistance tothe BPL people in villages under Mahgama panchayat of thedistrict and found them guilty.

Besides the BDO, the three others against whom the stephas been taken are the panchayat secretary, a junior engineerand the block agriculture officer, the sources added.
