Bangalore,Feb 1 (PTI):An alleged notorious criminal,involvedin 13 heinous offences, including murder of an official of thearmed reserved police in the country and a homicide case inLondon, was killed in an encounter here today, police said.
Acting on a tip off that he planned to commit a dacoity ina multinational bank in the city and was in touch with aninmate of the central prison, police zeroed in on NallaNagendra Reddy (30), while he was moving in a vehicle.
Though police ordered him to stop, he ignored it and triedto run over them. Reddy fired three rounds at the police teamwhich retailiated in self defence, injuring him.He was rushedto hospital, where he was declared brought dead, it said.
Reddy was wanted in 13 cases, including six of murder,twodaocity and two instances of escape from judicial custody.
In 2004, Reddy had allegedly stabbed his friend in U.K.,stuffed his body in a suitcase and set it ablaze. U.K. policeare investigating the case.
In 2005, he killed a man and the case is under trial. Healso escaped from judicial custody in 2006 while he wasadmitted in Victoria hospital for treatment.
He is also wanted for the murder an armed reserved policeconstable.
