Jharkhand contract doctors threaten boycott of Games
Jamshedpur, Feb 2 (PTI) The contract doctors in Jharkhandtoday threatened to boycott duty during the 34th NationalGames to be hosted by Jharkhand from February 12, if theirdemand to extend the tenure of their contract was notmet.
The doctors on contract in Jharkhand has servedultimatum to the state government to extend their tenurebefore February 12 otherwise they will boycott duty inthe National Games.
A delegation of contract doctors led by Mritunjay KumarSingh, General secretary of Indian Medical Association(IMA), Jamshedpur chapter, met the East Singhbhum districtcivil surgeon, Vibha Saran yesterday and apprised herabout their longstanding demand.
When contacted in this regard over phone, JharkhandHealth minister Hemlal Murmu said the tenure of the contractdoctors will be extended by this month end.
The National games will not be affected as the demandof the contract doctors was under consideration and likely befinalised by this month end, he told PTI.
