Puducherry, Feb 2 (PTI): The interim budget session of thePuducherry assembly got off to a noisy start after members ofopposition AIADMK, CPI and MDMK raised slogans and staged awalkout, protesting against the non functioning Congressgovernment, soon after Lt Governor Iqbal Singh began thecustomary address to the House.
AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbalagan and party otherlegislators Ohm Sakthi Segar and M V Omalingam, CPI members RViswanathan and N.Kalainathan and the lone MDMK member P RSiva carried placards and raised slogans in protest againstthe government here before staging a walkout.

Earlier AIADMK,CPI and MDMK members squatted at the entranceof the Assembly premises and had heated arguments with policeand the Assembly Secretary, claiming the former had preventedthem from discharging duties by intercepting bullock carts inwhich they had tried to reach the Assembly.
The Lt Governor however drove to the Assembly premisesthrough the other gate and officials.
