Dormitory fire kills five people in southwest China
GUIYANG, CHINA: A fire at a company dormitory in southwest China killed five people on early Wednesday morning, state-run media reported firefighters as saying.
The fire broke out at around 5.30 a.m. local time at the dormitory of Chengguan Township Salt Company in Qianxi County, located in the country's Guizhou Province.
The state-run Xinhua news agency said firefighters were able to rescue four people from the burning building. Five bodies were found after the fire was brought under control at around 6.30 a.m. local time.
Officials are investigating the cause of the deadly blaze.
