PJ Thomas
New Delhi, Feb 1: The Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) PJ Thomas on Tuesday, Feb 1 moved Supreme Court defending his appointment. Thomas filed an affidavit in the SC, in which he said, “I am clean, there is no question on my integrity."

Thomas' affidavit claimed that the media was maculating his image and there was no sanction to prosecute him in Palmolein scam case. The CVC also said that he was the suitable bureaucrat to be considered for the CVC's post. It also added that he has been nothing but a victim of politics in Kerala.

Last month the SC vacated the stay and granted Kerala government to proceed the trail on the multi-crore scam case, in which Thomas is an key accused.

The Supreme Court ordered to stay proceedings in the case before a designated CBI court in Kerala on Aug, 2007, after the Former chief Minister of Kerala late Karunakaran filling a petition. Later, the petition was dismissed by the SC following the death of Karunakaran, on Dec 23, 2010.
