New Delhi, Feb 1 (PTI)With Home Minister P Chidambaramstating that the Palmolein case against P J Thomas wasdiscussed by the CVC selection panel, senior BJP leader SushmaSwaraj today said she would not file an affidavit on the issuein the Supreme Court as there was "no dispute on facts now".
"The Home Minister has now admitted that I had raisedthe Palmolein case in the meeting and recorded my disagreementprecisely for this reason," Swaraj, the Leader of Oppositionin Lok Sabha, who was on the selection panel, said on Twitter.
Attorney General G E Vahanavati had stated in theSupreme Court last week that the panel for CVC, comprisingthe Prime Minister, Home Minister and Leader of Opposition, had not been apprised of the case against Thomas.
This has prompted Swaraj to say that she will file anaffidavit in the matter as the government was "misleading" theapex court.
Swaraj today maintained that after the Home Minister''sstatement, there was no need to file an affidavit.
"Now there is no dispute on facts. Therefore, there isno need for my affidavit," she said.
