Wellington, Feb 1 (PTI) New Zealand opening batsman JesseRyder has vented his anger on the micro-blogging site Twitterafter being run out in a mix-up with team-mate Stephen Murdochduring the provincial one-day cricket match.
Ryder, opening for Wellington against Northern Districtsat the Basin Reserve on Sunday, was sent packing after amix-up with Murdoch and he took to Twitter to voice hisfrustration.
"I just got run out by my other batter. What a waste oftime this day is ... I love getting left high an [sic] dry bymy other batter," Ryder tweeted.
However, New Zealand Cricket chief executive JustinVaughan ruled out any formal punishment for Ryder but saidthere are boundaries that should be adhered to, ''New ZealandHerald'' reported.
"Jesse was cross and frustrated and anyone could getpretty angry," Vaughan said. "Perhaps it''s better thanthrowing a bat against a wall."
Vaughan''s view was that Twitter is here to stay and it''sbest to make sure it is used sensibly rather than in apotentially damaging way. "We are pretty relaxed as long asplayers don''t bring the game into disrepute or sully itsreputation.
"You get the good with the mediocre. We let the playersknow there are limits, but it''s the way society is, it''s afact of life and I don''t think we can preclude it."
Teammate Scott Styris tweeted Ryder with the advice,"Don''t let the idiots get to you bud! The media are theproblem, not you".
New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori took a humourousstance when questioned on the issue of New Zealand teammembers tweeting.
"I''m not as much of a narcissist as Scotty [Styris] so Ican''t get on it. They can do what they want, they''re all grownmen .. ," Vettori said.
