New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) A Delhi court today sentencedthree men, including two brothers, to life imprisonment formurdering their neighbour as they bore a grudge against thevictim for his bursting the crackers on the occasion of Diwaliin 2008.
Additional Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna also imposedRs 10,000 fine each on two brothers Rameshwar Prasad andMukesh Kumar and Darshan Kumar after holding them guilty ofmurder under Section 302 of the IPC.
"There is no escape from the conclusion that the accusedin their common intention committed murder of deceased Shankarand caused simple injuries to complainant Uma Shankar," thecourt said.
The court relied upon the statement of Uma Shankar,brother of the victim, to convict the three accused.
According to the prosecution, the three convicts had onNovember two, 2008, attacked the victim and his brother withrods.
While the victim succumbed to the injuries, his brothersurvived and made a statement before the court that theaccused were harbouring ill-feeling as Shankar had objected totheir bursting of crackers a few days before the incident.
