New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) A woman, whose father was killedin 1984 anti-Sikh riots, today alleged before a Delhi courttrying senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar and others that shehad seen the politician addressing a mob during the carnage.
"I had stated in my statement to CBI that I saw SajjanKumar in a police vehicle standing and addressing the mob,"witness Nirpreet Kaur told Additional Sessions Judge SunitaGupta.
The witness made the statement during her crossexamination for the 10th day.
She was confronted with her statement given to CBI, wherethe facts regarding the police vehicle and addressing the mobwere not mentioned, by counsel I U Khan representing Kumar,the former outer Delhi MP.
The 42-year-old witness had remained in jail after beingbooked in three different cases registered under now-repealedTerrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA).
Her cross examination remained inconclusive and is likelyto resume tomorrow.
In her statement before the court, Kaur had identifiedfive accused Sajjan, Balwan, Kishan, Mahender and CaptainBhagmal who are facing trial relating to the killing of sixpersons at Delhi Cantt during the riots that followed theassassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi onOctober 31, 1984.
The case against Sajjan Kumar was registered on arecommendation of the G T Nanavati Commission that had probedthe riots. CBI had filed two chargesheets against him andothers in January last year.
