KMK demands separate Kongu State
Erode, Jan 31 (PTI): The Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam hasdemanded that a separate Kongu state, comprising seven oreight districts be carved from Tamil Nadu, as these areas havea good chunk of people from their caste.
Addressing a meeting of the party''s wing at nearbyGopichettipalayam last night, KMK President �Best� Ramasamydemanded that the town initially be made District Headquartersby carving it from Erode district.
On the alliance in the ensuing Assembly polls, he said nodecision had yet been taken on support or alliance with anypolitical party.
He also urged the Government to redress all grievances ofthe KMK and said a similar conference would be held in everyAssembly segment soon.
