Mumbai, Jan 31 (PTI) The Bombay High Court today pulledup authorities of the Arthur Road central prison for nottaking cognisance of a complaint made by alleged gangsterMustafa Dossa against underworld don Abu Salem.
A division bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and A R Joshidirected the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the areato file a reply about what action would be taken on Dossa''scomplaint.
"If you (police) can take cognisance of Salem''s complaintthen why not Dossa''s," the bench questioned.
The High Court was hearing two separate petitions filedby Dossa and Salem.
Salem has questioned his transfer to Taloja jail in NaviMumbai, following an alleged attach on him by Dossa on July 24last year inside the Arthur Road prison.
According to Salem''s complaint, Dossa had attacked himon his face with a sharpened spoon.
Dossa, in his petition, alleged that the jail authoritiesare biased against him and have refused to register hiscomplaint against Salem for allegedly assaulting him.
