Kolkata, Jan 31 (PTI) Amid growing demand to bringback black money stashed in foreign banks into the county,West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee todayblamed the Centre''s policies for the proliferation ofunaccounted money.
"The Congress-led UPA government''s policies areresponsible for the ill-gotten money finding its way intoforeign banks while the poor became poorer," the chiefminister said in a hard-hitting attack.
"This government is for the rich and its policies havebeen geared for the rich. Black and white money are all inequal circulation. The country''s money has been plundered andstashed in foreign banks," Bhattacharjee said while addressinga rally of women workers in the unorganised sector.
Bhattacharjee, who had last week demandedaccountability for the huge amount of black money incirculation, said that 100 billionaires had been spawned dueto the policies of the Centre.
He wanted action against a section of the capitalistsin the country who had amassed huge amounts of unaccountedmoney.
