U''khand CM orders probe into tiger killing
Dehra Dun, Jan 29 (PTI) Uttrakhand Chief MinisterRamesh Pokhriyal Nishank today ordered a probe into thekilling of a tiger on Thursday by forest officials, whodeclared it a "man-eater", after a half-eaten human body wasrecovered from the Corbett National Park.
Nishak has directed the state Chief Secretary SubhashKumar to conduct a probe into the matter with the help ofChief Forest Conservator and Chief Wildlife Warden, sourcessaid.
The tiger was shot dead at Kosi river range area ofthe park on suspicion of killing a 27-year-old man afteragitating villagers demanded immediate elimination of thefeline.
However, many wildlife activists claimed that thetiger was not a man-eater and demanded probe into theincident.
