Two Goa policemen suspended for protecting flesh trade
Panaji, Jan 30 (PTI) Two Goa Police Head Constables,attached to Crime Branch, have been suspended for allegedlyprotecting prostitution rackets, officials said today.
Ulhas Malnekar and Pandu Gawas were placed undersuspension last night after a preliminary inquiry found themguilty of sheltering prostitution rings in the tourist state,they said.
"The inquiry revealed that duo was extorting moneyfrom pimps involved in flesh trade," Superintendent ofPolice (Crime Branch) Mangaldas Desai told PTI.
The Police Department is conducting probe to ascertainwhether they just collected bribes or were actually runningthe rackets themselves, he added.
