Speaker accepts resignation of Rangasamy, Angalane
Puducherry, Jan 29 (PTI) Puducherry assembly Speaker RRadhakrishnan has accepted the resignations of N Rangasamy andof P Angalane (both Congress) from the assembly.
The Speaker had accepted the resignations of Rangasamy,who represented Thattanchavady assembly constituency, andAngalane from Tirbuvanai (R) constituency, a release from theSecretary to the assembly M Sivprakasam said today.
The two had submitted their letters on January 20 bringingdown the strength of the ruling Congress in the 30-memberassembly from 13 to 11. Seven DMK and three independents aresupporting the government from outside.
The opposition AIADMK has three members, PMK has twomembers and CPI and MDMK have one member each.
Rangasamy had earlier told reporters that he was resigningto protest against the ''utter neglect" of his constituency bythe V Vaithilingam government.
Angalane, a supporter of Rangasamy, had also charged thegovernment with having failed to implement welfare schemes inhis constituency.
