Itanagar, Jan 29 (PTI) Appreciating the contribution ofDon Bosconians in national integration, Arunachal PradeshGovernor Gen (Retd) J J Singh today called all and sundry forcommitment towards making united efforts which would securethe future through collective endeavours.
"Let us all share the optimism that we will rise abovedifferences and challenges to realise our dreams and giveshape to our aspirations.
With new strength and renewed commitments let us reinforcethe bonds of our composite society" the governor said whileaddressing the three-day Don Bosco Alumni India NationalCongress and centenary celebration of World Confederation heretoday.
"We need to encourage every alumna to work with the AlumniAssociation to find opportunities for both the alumna and theinstitution to make a positive difference. At the same timethe association should have a mission to encourage and promotealumni participation in their Alma mater�s activities throughservice and leadership," Gen Singh said.
He said, there is a need that people follow the path shownby all faiths to be a good human being and help in theupliftment of socially deprived people and also for the peace,prosperity and development.
"If each one of us starts contributing towards the goal,we can make a difference. Let us fight against the divisiveforces and elements of sectarian violence. Let us strengthenthe spirit of unity and reinforce the splendid integrity indiversity of our society," he added.
National president of Don Bosco Alumni Rajesh Gupta whilehighlighting various activities of the alumni informed thatthere are 47,000 registered members from India in the alumniwith 150 units and provinces in the country.
J Pastor from Rome who participated in the celebration asworld delegate of Don Bosco alumni, in his message called forproducing leaders with the motto to ''grow to gain andsolidarity with others.''
Around 200 participants from various parts of the countryare taking part in the celebration with theme "review, renewand return to Don Bosco to usher in a century of peace andnational integrity." PTI UPL
