Hyderabad, Jan 30: Four persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of gangster-politician Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy, prime accused in a TDP MLA killing case, even as his close aide and prime accused Bhanu Kiran remains at large. "We have arrested four persons in connection with the killing of Suri. But the main accused Bhanu is still elusive.

Now, it is confirmed that he (Bhanu) is the one who committed the murder," Police Commissioner A K Khan told reporters today.

Suri (39), a faction leader from Anantapur district in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, and the prime accused in the murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravi, was shot dead by gunmen in his car in Yousufguda here on Jan 3. The police had been on the look-out for Bhanu and his associates for their alleged involvement in Suri"s murder.

Those arrested were identified as Manmohan Singh Bhadauria, Sulam Subbaiah, B V Hari Babu and A V Ramana, the city police chief said but declined to reveal from where and when they were apprehended.

"Based on the confession of the four arrested... we feel that property and business disputes and personal rivalry between Suri and Bhanu were responsible for the murder", the city police chief said.

"Once Bhanu is arrested, a few new pieces of evidence may also emerge. But so far from whatever information we have got from the witnesses, the circumstances and the four arrested...we feel the motive predominantly appears to be personal rivalry," the Police Commissioner said.

Special police teams, including Central Crime Station and Commissioner's Task Force personnel, have been dispatched across the country to locate Bhanu. "It's only a matter of time before we get him," Khan said.
