Jalna, Jan 29 (PTI) Criticising the BJP over itscampaign to hoist national flag in Srinagar''s Lal Chowk, theCPI(M) today said the saffron party should first unfurl thetricolour at the Nagpur-based headquarters of the RSS.
The BJP''s campaign, which was thwarted by the Jammuand Kashmir Government, was "provocative" and a "politicalstunt", CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said.
The principal Opposition party should first hoist thenational flag at the RSS headquarters, he stated.
Addressing a press conference here in CentralMaharashtra, the CPI(M) Politburo member said that in the nextgeneral elections, his party would forge an alliance with thenon-Congress secular parties.
Yechury criticised the Congress over the civil nucleardeal with the US and said his party will not join hands withthe Sonia Gandhi-led outfit.
The MP said Left parties are firm on their demand fora Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into thecorruption scandals.
Yechury informed that the Left and secular Oppositionparties have decided to hold a week-long country wideagitation from February 3 against price rise and the failureof the Government to control it.
He strongly condemned the killing of Malegaon''sAdditional District Collector Yashwant Sonawane and said thishappened due to nexus between oil mafia and politicians.
Yechury asked the Congress-led UPA Government to takesteps to seize the black money stashed abroad. The CPI(M)leader expressed concern over external and internal links toterrorism and said the latter was more dangerous.
