3 in fray for Manipur bye-election
Imphal, Jan 29 (PTI) Three condidates have filednomination papers for the February 14 bye-election toKonthoujam assembly constituency in Manipur''s Imphal Westdistrict, election office sources said today.
The last date for filing nomination papers wasyesterday and the last date for withdrawl of papers was fixedon Monday next.
The candidates are S. Ranjan (Congress), K. Ranjit(independent) and K. Sarat Singh (Trinamool Congress), sourcessaid.
The seat fell vacant due to death of former assemblySpeaker and Congress MLA S. Budhichandra, whose son Ranjan iscontesting as Congress condidate.
