Sivaganga (TN),Jan29(PTI) CPI would begin alliance-leveltalks with AIADMK for the Tamil Nadu assembly polls due inMay, tomorrow, party''s Tamil Nadu unit secretary D.Pandiansaid today.
The talks would be held with representatives of the AIADMKhigh level committee formed for holding electoral talks, hetold reporters here.
He said CPI was in alliance with AIADMK even duringMGR''s (AIADMK founder) period.
Referring to the 2G spectrum scam, he said "it is themother of all scandals that has taken place in the UPAregime,leading to the government losing Rs.1.76 Lakh crore."
He said Congress in a book published in connection withits 125th year celebrations had accepted the "mistakes"committed by Narasimha Rao, Sanjay Gandhi, and IndiraGandhi,and in the same way it would "accept the mistakescommitted in 2G spectrum allocation after some years."
Slamming Chief Minister M Karunanidhi''s remarks that''freebies'' would continue till there were poor people inthe state, he said freebies did not provide employment nordid it eradicate poverty in the state.Even the employmentguarantee programme was a central government programme and notthe state government programme,he said.
The state government should come out with facts regardingland acquisition done for multinational companies, he said.
The government should also come out with facts regardinghow many beneficiaries were given two acre free land, he said,adding,it should also come out with facts and figures onpublic debt which stood at Rs.90000 crore now.
