Reveal names of those with black money accounts, Yadav demands

Jabalpur, Feb 27 (PTI) Janata Dal (U) PresidentSharad Yadav today demanded that government reveal the namesof those Indians who have stashed away black money in theforeign banks.

"The Congress had promised before the polls that itwill bring back the black money deposited in foreign bankswithin 100 days of coming into power, but now it isbacktracking. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is saying thatit is not possible because of the treaties with severalcountries," Yadav said here.

"During NDA''s tenure, these rules were very tough, andtherefore, the then government was unable to reveal thesenames. But now, the laws in this regard have been relaxed andthe present government should not have any problem indivulging the names," he said talking to reporters.

Referring to the 2G spectrum scam, he said that onlyCongress Party''s 206 MPs are opposing it, while UPA''s otherconstituents are supporting the demand for a JPC probe.

Terming UPA rule as a "Government of Scams", Yadavsaid that so many scams never took place in any othergovernment''s tenure.

He also blamed the UPA government for rising inflationin the country and added that it will have bad effect on theeconomy.

A rally of NDA constituents will be held at Kanpur onFebruary 5 on the issue of scams and inflation, he said.

As to CBI, he alleged that it was working under thepressure of the government and therefore people had no faithin it.
