Man arrested in vehicle theft case
New Delhi, Jan 27 (PTI) A 26-year-old man claiming towork in a local news channel, who was evading police invehicle theft cases, was arrested here, police said today.
Amit, who was earlier arrested in two murder cases,was apprehended from Dwarka Sector-12 on Monday on a tip off,Ashok Chand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
Amit, who earlier worked as a taxi driver at IGIairport, was allegedly involved in murdering one MahdenderSingh in Rohtak on December 2008 and a taxi driver Padam Dalalin Delhi on December 2009. He had enmity with both thevictims.
He was arrested by Haryana Police in January 2009 andremained in jail in both the cases till he got bail in June2010.
During the time he was out on bail, he allegedlyrobbed a vehicle in Palam Vihar along with his associates whowere arrested.
Amit claimed that he is a reporter in a local newschannel ''Khabar Aap Tak''. The car recovered from thepossession of Amit also contains press sticker of ''Khabar AapTak''.
He was also found carrying identity card of NGO ''JiwanSewa Ek Paryas''.
