Kolkata, Jan 27 (PTI) The Cricket Association of Bengalpresident Jagmohan Dalmiya tried to put up a brave front afterthe ICC announced its decision to remove the World Cup matchbetween India and England which was scheduled to be held atEden Gardens from February 27.
"I had a series telephonic conversations with BCCIpresident, secretary and tournament director Ratnakar Shetty.
They have assured that they would take up the matter with theICC. Personally, I still believe we can host the first WorldCup match between India and England," the former ICC and BCCIpresident told the mediapersons today.
He also informed that the renovation work will continue.
The state association has already sent a letter to BCCIpresident Shashank Manohar requesting him to take up thematter with the ICC.
"I expect a positive reaction within the next couple ofdays," Dalmiya said.
