Flagging issues in Orissa on R-Day
This news comes from the BJP in Bhubaneswar when on Wednesday, Jan 26 they hoisted the National flag upside down. On realizing their mistake, they tendered an unconditional apology for hoisting the national flag upside down during Republic Day celebrations.
"We are sorry for the incident. The person who tied the flag should have made proper check before hoisting of the Tricolour," party's senior leader and former minister B B Harichandan said. "It was a mistake and we admit that," he added and stressed that there was no intention to dishonour the Tricolour.
The mistake was pointed out by party leaders and media persons as soon as the flag was unfurled as part of Republic Day celebrated at the party's state headquarters. The flag was hoisted again the correct way with due respect.
It was not just the BJP that had to witness such an embarrassment; in another incident the Tricolour fell down from atop the pole at the ruling BJD office as soon as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik pulled the string.

"A new rope was arranged immediately and the flag hoisted thereafter with due honour," said party's functionary Narendra Swain.
