Dimapur, Jan 28 (ANI): Dilip Nunisa, Chairman of "Dima Halam Daogah" (DHD), an extremist group, has said that the separate state of Dimaraji is incomplete without Dimapur district of Nagaland.

Talking to reporters here, Nunisa said: "The outfit's demand is based on historical facts, which cannot be overlooked.

"Nobody can deny the history, so without mentioning Dimapur, the Kachari history, the Dimasas' history is not complete and this is our right. We have got our ancestral, historical, political and constitutional right. So that is what we are claiming. But though, that the history or the other nationals claiming to bag Dimapur into our Dimaraji state, but we think and the government believes that settlement is up to the Government of India (GoI), through dialogue," said Nunisa.

Nunisa further said that the outfit is displeased with the peace talks with the Central Government and sticks to its demand for a separate state.

"We are not happy with the talks. Though the government has already given some hopes and aspirations for us, that is development and all. But still, without giving political safeguard for the people of NC hills (North Cachar Hills), it is not acceptable," he added.

DHD, an erstwhile extremist group operating mostly in Assam and Nagaland, is engaged in a ceasefire agreement with the Central Government since 2003.

The outfit laid down its arms on September 2009. (ANI)
