Minister says he got threats, but police yet to talk to him

Hyderabad, Jan 27 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh TextilesMinister P Shankar Rao today alleged that no police officerhas contacted him even two days after he said that he wasgetting threatening calls for writing a letter to the HighCourt about alleged irregularities in the companies owned by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

"No official has contacted me so far. It isunfortunate on the part of the police," he told reportershere.

Asked if he has complained to the police about thematter, he shot back: "Do you expect me to go to a policestation?"

He said police had met him on an earlier occasion whenhe had got threat calls.

Replying to a query, he said he will bring the matterto the notice of the Union Government.

Shankar Rao claimed on Tuesday that he had beenreceiving threatening calls from the previous night after theHigh Court issued notices to 52 companies that had invested inthe group companies owned by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

It was on a letter written by Shankar Rao in October,seeking a probe by the CBI, that the High Court issuednotices to the investors and to the Centre on Jagan''s"ill-gotten wealth", by admitting the letter as a writpetition.
