Moscow, Jan 27 (PTI) A powerful car bomb exploded outsidea cafe in Russia''s volatile North Caucasus region of Dagestankilling at least four people and injuring six others, daysafter a suicide attack at Moscow''s international airportclaimed 35 lives.
The car bomb attack took place late last night outsidethe cafe in the city of Khasavyurt, Ria Novosti reported,quoting police.
It said four people were killed in the explosion and sixothers injured.
A spokesman of a local hospital was quoted as saying thatthree dead and seven injured were brought to the hospital soonafter the blast and "one of the injured later died duringsurgery."
It is the second car bomb explosion in Khasavyurt in thepast two weeks. On January 14, a similar attack on anothercafe in the city killed four people and injured five others.
Russia is fighting an Islamist insurgency in theCaucasus, where deadly attacks on government and police havebeen taking place frequently.
The car bomb explosion followed Monday''s suicide attackat Moscow''s Domodedovo airport that killed 35 people andinjured over 180 others.
Some media reports said the airport bombing may have beenplanned by militants from the Northern Caucasus region.
Monday''s suicide attack was Moscow''s second terror strikein less than a year.
In March last year, two woman suicide bombers attackedthe Moscow metro killing 40 people and injuring over 100others. PTI
