Cold conditions sweep Punjab, Amritsar coldest at 4 deg C
Chandigarh, Jan 27 (PTI) Punjab continued to remain underthe grip of cold conditions, with Amritsar reeling at 4degrees Celsius, even as many parts of Haryana registeredabove normal minimums for the second day today.
Amritsar was the coldest place in two states recording aminimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, the MeT said here.
Ludhiana also experienced a cold night at 5.4 deg C,while temperature in Patiala was at 6 deg C.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 7.8 deg C, whileRohtak registered a low of 7 deg C, one notch above normal.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 7.2 deg C as the low atGurgaon settled at 6.3 deg C. Hisar and Karnal had a coldnight recording respective minimums of 4.5 deg C and 5 deg C.
The MeT has forecast further fall in night temperaturesat many places in the two states by Saturday.
