Convict jumps from train

Dehra Dun, Jan 25 (PTI) A murder convict escaped frompolice custody by jumping from a moving train in Doiwala area,near here, police said today.

He was caught later, they said adding the incidenthappened late last night.

Vinod Kumar was travelling from Meerut, where he wasproduced before a court in connection with a case, to DehraDun on the Indore Express.

When the train reached Doiwala, he jumped from themoving train, police said.

A police constable also jumped from the train andchased him and later caught the convict.

Both Kumar and the cop, who received injuries, wereadmitted to a hospital.
