New Delhi, Jan 25 (PTI) CBI today questioned high-profile corporate lobbyist Niira Radia for the second time inconnection with its probe into the 2G spectrum scam.
Radia was grilled at the CBI headquarters for about 2hours during which she was asked about funding of some telecomcompanies who were alloted the second generation spectrum fromOctober 2007 to January 2008, official sources said.
This is the second time Radia is being questioned bythe CBI in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
She was earlier questioned on December 21 by CBI officials ather farmhouse in Delhi.
The CBI sleuths had earlier carried out searches atRadia''s residence and the premises of her firm, VaishnaviCommunications, here. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) hasalso grilled her on allegations of money laundering.
Radia hit the spotlight after her taped telephonicconversations with various influential people includingindustrialists, politicians and journalists became public.
Supreme Court is closely monitoring the multi agencyprobe in the allocation of 2G spectrum to certain telecomfirms.
The apex court has asked CBI and ED to submit statusreports on their probe to it by February 10, when the 2Gspectrum case will come up for hearing.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) inits report to the Parliament had said that the allocation of2G spectrum at under valued prices had resulted in the loss ofRs 1.76 lakh crore to the exchequer.
