Mumbai, Jan 25 (PTI) National air-carrier Air India todayenhanced the ambit of discount on tickets to paramilitarypersonnel by extending the benefit to their family members.
Besides, the airline also made the discount uniformfor senior citizens, a press release issued here stated.
The discounts to paramilitary personnel have now beenextended to their family members as well and will be availableto those from the Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan BorderPolice, Coast Guard, Central Industrial Security Force,Central Reserve Police Force, Assam Rifles, Railway ProtectionForce, Intelligence Bureau and Sashastra Seema Bal.
A discount of 50 per cent, other than on apex fares, onthe basic fare component will be available on all fare levelsin the economy class for domestic sectors only, it said.
Also, effective January 22, senior citizens'' discounthas been made uniform for both men and women under which anyperson of 63-years of age can avail a discount of 50 per centon the basic fare component of the normal economy class fare.
Earlier, the discount was available to men above 65-years and women above 63-years.
Additionally, the airline has also extended the 50 percent concession on children''s tickets to all levels of economyclass except on apex fares on domestic sectors from January24.
Children who have completed two years but have notcompleted 12-years of age are eligible for the discount.
Air India also announced four free return tickets eachto every child recipient of the National Bravery Award for2010.
