Thakur''s pro-poor ideology relevant: Lalu
Patna, Jan 24 (PTI) Paying tributes to legendarysocialist leader and former Chief Minister KarpooriThakur, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today said that hispro-poor ideology remained relevant with even Thakur''s criticin his lifetime the BJP observing his birth anniversary.
The BJP, which had opposed Thakur politically, wascelebrating the latter''s birth anniversary and this was avictory of the latter''s ideology and policies, he said at thebirth centenary celebrations of the late socialist leader.
The former chief minister was a bitter critic ofcommunal politics and always stood up for the rights of thedowntrodden and poor at a time when there was absence ofleaders from poor socio-economic background, Prasad said.
