Sugar eases on subdued demand
Mumbai, Jan 25 (PTI) Sugar prices slipped at the VashiWholesale market here today due to reduced offtake fromretailers amid ample stock positions.
Small sugar quality (S-30) fell by Rs 1/20 per quintal toRs 2,831/2,881 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,851/2,882.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) also moved down by Rs 10 perquintal to Rs 2,871/2,931 as against Rs 2,881/2,931 yesterday.
The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,831/2,881 (Rs 2,851/2,882) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,871/2,931(Rs 2,881/2,931).
