Fantastic Federer enters the semis of Aus Open

Roger Federer
Melbourne, Jan 25: If anyone is ever asked to define greatness, then how will they do it. Simply point at Roger Federer, the Swiss legend, who holds the record for the most number of Men's grand slam singles title and looks set for adding yet another one to it.

Federer, ranked World no.2, brushed aside Stanislas Wawrinka 6-1 6-3 6-3 to enter into the semifinals of Australian Open 2011. This will be his eighth straight appearance at the semis in Melbourne Park. This is just an indication of how good a player he has been.

Wawrinka, who partnered Federer to win the Beijing Olympics Gold Medal played better than the scorelines suggest. But he was shown no mercy by the Swiss maestro who showed that he belonged to a different class all together.

Federer broke Wawrinka twice in the first set and hit 29 winners overall. He dominated the match 90-66. He will now take on either Novak Djokovic or Tomas Berdych in the semifinal scheduled for Jan 27.
