Case filed against Binayak Sen''s wife
Nagpur, Jan 24 (PTI) Maharashtra Police today filed acase against Ilina Sen, wife of civil rights activist BinayakSen, for "misusing" an event organised by an organisationheaded by her and seeking support for some alleged Naxalsympathisers, including her husband.
The case was filed at Wardha near here, police sourcessaid.
Ilina, a teacher at Wardha-based Mahatma GandhiNational Hindi University, is also the Convenor of IndianAssociation of Women Studies (IAWS), which had organised athree-day annual convention a few days ago.
Ilina was the moving force behind the convention andused the event to garner public sympathy for Sen, sentenced bya Chhattisgarh Court to life imprisonment for colluding withMaoists, and others like Mumbai-based Sudhir Dhawale, who wasrecently arrested for alleged Naxal links they said.
The delegates, including foreigners, who had come toparticipate in the convention, organised a protests againstthe arrest of Sen and Dhawale, the sources said.
