17 injured in clash in Maharashtra village
Akola, Jan 24 (PTI) Seventeen persons were injured ina clash between members of two communities at a village nearhere in Eastern Maharashtra today, police said.
Eight persons were arrested in connection with theviolence at Mahagaon, they said.
The clash was triggered by a dispute over the site ofan existing Budhha vihar near the village. Angry mobs indulgedin stone pelting causing injury to 17 persons, they said.
An autorickshaw was also set on fire by the mob,police said.
Senior district police officials are camping in thevillage, where situation is under control, they added.
