Select base metals up on higher industrial demand

Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI) Nickel, tin and copper prices roseat the non-ferrous metal market here today due to risingindustrial demand coupled with stockists buying, supported byfirming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, aluminium prices moved down on lower offtakefrom consumer industries.

Nickel hardened by Rs 20 per kilo to Rs 1,275 from lastweekend''s closing level of Rs 1,255 and tin rose by Rs 5 perkilo to Rs 1,435, as against Rs 1,430 previously.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar edged up by Rs 2per kilo each to Rs 455 and Rs 483 respectively, as comparedto Rs 453 and Rs 483 last weekend.

Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture and copper sheetscutting, all inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 446, Rs435 and Rs 428 respectively.

However, aluminium ingots looked down by Rs 2 per kilo toRs 129 and aluminium utensils scrap softened by a rupee perkilo to Rs 104.
