Rajasthan striker Prakash Chaudhary scores record 32 goals

Sonepat, Jan 24 (PTI) Rajasthan striker Prakash Chaudharyregistered her name in the record books after slamming 32goals in her team''s 34-0 triumph over Tripura in the firstNational Women''s Hockey Championship here today.

Chaudhary stunned everyone as she went on to hit thetarget as many as 32 times, including six from penalty cornersduring the lop-sided encounter. Sonam and Navpreet accountedfor the other two goals.

In the other matches of the day, Orissa beat Delhi 5-2,Punjab blanked Maharashtra 6-0 and Chandigarh were held to a1-1 draw by Madhya Pradesh.

Orissa dominated against Delhi on the fourth day of thechampionship, as Surabhi and Lilima scored three and two goalsrespectively to help their team emerge victorious.

For Delhi, Shweta Sharma and Praveen Rana reduced themargin.

Anuradha Thokchom scored a hat-trick for Punjab whileAmandeep, Lalremruati Khiangte and Vartika Singh scored a goaleach.

In the Chandigarh-MP pool F match, Nishi found the targetfor the former, while Ranjeeta equalised for Madhya Pradesh.

Seven matches -- J&K v Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh vUttrakhand, Tamilnadu v Delhi, Punjab v Tripura, Rajasthan vMaharashtra, Bengal v Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand vKeralato -- will be played tomorrow.
