The BJP leaders, led by their senior LK Advani, alleged that Bhardwaj was acting "unconstitutionally and misusing governor's powers given by the Constitution. They demanded the President to immediately remove the governor from his post.
At Rashtrapati Bhavan, Advani told the media, "the Karnataka governor has insulted the Constitution and let his post down. He is acting like Congress agent. A Governor is expected to act to act in an unbiased manner, but his conduct has been full of biases since Day 1. It was never in accordance with the Constitution."
The BJP delegation was comprised of Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Karnataka BJP MPs like Anantha Kumar and the party MLCs.
On the other hand, three more land scam cases were filed against Yeddyurappa in Karnataka. The complaints have been filed by an advocate Sirajin Basha on Sunday. The cases relate to alleged illegal land deals, abuse of power, criminal conspiracy, cheating and getting illegal gain for the relatives of Yeddyurappa. Basha is one of the two advocates on whose complaints the Governor has sanctioned prosecution against Yeddyurappa.
Yeddyurappa has commonly been accused in all the three complaints filed in Bangalore's 23rd Additional City and Civil Sessions Court. According to the cases, Yeddyurappa and his associates have allegedly amassed Rs 189 crore and caused a loss of Rs 465 crore to the state exchequer.
However, every former Chief Minister is learnt to have done the same and it is not unique to BS Yeddyuarappa only.
