Indian Flag
Dharamsala, Jan 22: The BJP is going all out to prove something. Even after repeated requests from all quarters to stop the 'Ekta Yatra', the BJP has set its mind firm to hoist the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Republic Day.

The Jammu and Kashmir government had recently announced that it would stop the BJP Yatra at all costs.

The huge rally will enter Una, Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, Jan 22 afternoon after covering Kolkata on Jan 12. The rally had earlier travelled through Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and will eventually congregate at Srinagar to hoist the national flag at Lal Chowk on Jan 26.

15000 BJP workers had assembled from Himachal Pradesh and is participating in the 6000-km Ekta Yatra led by BJP's youth wing's national president and Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur. The BJP wants to drive the fact that Jammu and Kashmir is very much a part of India and unfurling the national flag in India is their right and duty.

Anurag Thakur was quoted as saying that the yatra has informed people on Article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir in the union of India. BJP reiterates its belief that the solution to the Kashmir conflict lies in revoking J&K's special status and its complete integration with India.

Let us hope good sense prevails and that the show of power from various groups, factions and parties doesn't lead to more bloodshed and chaos among the already victimized Kashmiri brethren.
