Telangana: Cong's decision after talks with AP CM

New Delhi, Jan 21: The Congress high-command is expected to take a stand on Telangana issue after discussing the matter with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday, Jan 21.

After discussing the Telangana matter with all its MPs of Andhra Pradesh in the wake of Srikrishna Committee's recommendations, Congress leadership is now to discuss the matter with Reddy who is in Delhi.

The CM is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram in the morning and in the evening he is to meet Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss about the railway projects for Andhra Pradesh.

Reddy's views on Telangana will become key points for Congress in taking a crucial decision on the issue. Already most of the Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh have been said to have made it clear to the Congress leadership that they are all for keeping the state united and not for its bifurcation.

The MPs have also put forth the party high-command that not only in Telangana, backward areas are also there in Semandhra (Royala Seeema and coastal Andhra) areas, which needed to be developed.
