Police rescues 10 girls, arrests four traffickers
Rourkela, Jan 21 (PTI) Police today claimed to havebusted a woman trafficking racket by rescuing 10 minor girlsand arresting four persons including two women at Bhasma inSundargarh district, about 120 km from here.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), SundargarhSadar, Suresh Mishra said the girls in age group of 15-17years of Karamdih, Chalandmunda and Purenbuda villages of thedistrict were travelling with four middlemen and women in ajeep to Jharsuguda to board a train to New Delhi.
The girls during the interrogation have said they werepromised job at Delhi with salary of Rs 5000 per month.
The girls were handed over to their families aftertheir parents reached the police station.
All four were produced before a court at Sundargarhwhich remanded them to jail custody.
